Why choose Well.Actually. Revitalise Skin Duo?
We all want to look and feel good. We all love comments from our family and friends that our appearance and look is healthy. Skin appearance usually reflects its internal health and vitality. If we lack vital nutrients needed for the skin to stay healthy, visible marks may often appear as warning signs of internal imbalance. If you ever suffered with acne, skin eruptions, increased visibility of wrinkles, blemishes or marks, you can no doubt relate.
Well.Actually. Revitalise Skin Duo, provides two power house antioxidants in a convenient and high absorption liquid form to provide the ultimate skin health support.
Reduced L-Glutathione (Setria®) with added Selenium and Vitamin B6 (Liquid Form) works synergistically to boost Glutathione levels in the body, optimising its ‘master antioxidant’ capabilities.
Vitamin C has long been a primary source of protection for the skin, its anti-oxidant function supporting skin’s protection against UV and harmful free radicals. 1000mg Liposomal Vitamin C, provide the highest level intake of this skin health protecting nutrient. Vitamin C helps to protect skin cells and supports the products of Collagen.
For optimal absorption, Well.Actually. encapsulates its Glutathione & Vitamin C within millions of micro-phospholipid bubbles called liposomes. The body recognises and easily transports the Liposomal Glutathione * Vitamin C into our blood and target delivers it directly into our own cells. The liposomes also protect their nutrient-rich content against harsh digestive processes, which tablets and capsules cannot withstand. This ensures more intact nutrients make it into the blood.
Well Actually Bio-Available Glutathione is made within in a UK to GMP & BRCGS food-approved standards. All our products are free from alcohol, dairy, gluten, wheat, artificial sweeteners, and preservatives and a GMO Free.
What are the benefits of Glutathione & Vitamin C?
Many of the components of our antioxidant defences such as Vitamins C and E and Selenium, can be obtained from the healthy balanced diet. However, as is often the case, with busy hectic lifestyles and reduced ability absorb nutrients as we age, this still may not be enough to achieve optimum skin health needs. Glutathione can be obtained from our food but it is not very easily absorbed. Unlike Vitamin C, we can produce Glutathione within our body but as we age this becomes harder to achieve. External sources of Glutathione, Selenium, vitamin E and C, can provide your skin health with the boost it needs. These nutrients help restore and protect skin health against external toxin and environmental factors, as well as harmful UV rays which, can cause damage to our skin.
Glutathione “The Master Antioxidant” - Glutathione is often referred to as the body's master antioxidant as unlike other antioxidants it can be found in almost every cell of the human body. The body naturally produces glutathione in the liver, making it vital for supporting the body's natural detoxification capabilities. Production of glutathione declines as we age and/or suffer from poor diet, environmental toxins, stress, trauma, some medications, and infections. These factors reduce protection from free radical damage to our healthy skin cells, protein, and DNA.
Antioxidants are our body’s natural protection against free radical damage. Free radicals are molecules with unpaired electrons which makes them unstable as electrons like to be in pairs.
Free radicals attack other cells to steal their electron, therefore damaging the cell by reducing its ability to function. More free radicals can be created by smoking, pollution, chemicals, and exposure to the sun's UV rays. If free radicals overwhelm the body's ability to regulate them, a condition known as oxidative stress ensues. Oxidative stress can cause us to age quicker and can damage tissues which can lead to poor skin health.
A balance between free radicals and antioxidants is necessary for proper physiological function. Glutathione is a tri-peptide consisting of amino acids glutamate, cysteine, and glycine which have an extra electron. Acting as an electron donor, it directly binds to the molecules with the missing electrons and neutralizes them. Glutathione is one of the few nutrients that can neutralize the full spectrum of free radicals in the body. Besides its antioxidant defence and free radical scavenging, Glutathione regenerates important antioxidants such as vitamins C and E.
From the age of about 20, glutathione levels start to decrease as we age.
Vitamin C whilst also acting as an antioxidant in its own right which helps fight free radicals and offers to support the reactivation and recycling of Glutathione in the body. It also plays a major role in collagen production, making it one of the most sought after anti-aging and anti-oxidant nutrients. Having sufficient levels of Vitamin C are needed for nourishment of the skin, preventing oxidative damage and inflammation associated with exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun whilst helping to promote a glowing, healthy appearance.
